Aloha Friday Message – August 14, 2009

Happy Aloha Friday, Beloved. Today I am thinking about God’s LOVE. It is so amazing that, if I did not believe in it, it would be incredible. It is credible, however, because we can see it and feel it in our lives, in our hearts and minds, and in the love we share among each other.

Before I get into how all that works, I want to add another Praise report. I got a nice note from JC recently, and she reports that along with her family and a host of physicians, she has decided on “watchful waiting.” Her sphenoid tumor (just behind the eyes and near the nasal bones) is still there, still growing slowly. Because it is a benign, slow-growing tumor, chemotherapy and radiation may not be effective. Because it is so close to her optic nerve and carotid artery, surgery is risky. We have a perfect opportunity to really get the Prayer Circle cranked up. I have chosen to pray for her daily at 7:16 AM – an odd time so that it is easy to remember. If you would join me – any time of any day – that would be great. Here’s the content of the prayer. You will note that it is asking for the intercession of Heavenly friends, too. Follow your own conscience there. The important thing is to pray with conviction “In faith believing” for that tumor to get gone. The persons mentioned are:

Blessed Damien de Veuester – the Pastor to the People at the Colony on Moloka`i
St. (Padre) Pio – The Priest from Petrelcina who bore the Stigmata
Charles – My dad
Merilee – My sister
Nikki – Nicole Amorette Southern, a very dear friend for years.
Julie – Timothy’s fraternal-twin sister.
David – Chorus Director for Kaua`i High School Chorus, JC’s teacher, and another long-time dear friend.

So let’s pray together (you can insert your own intentions in the Italics section if that’s easier for you)

Lord, it’s time to remember your servant, JC. Watch over her, Father. Bless her. Protect her. Guide her. Direct her. Keep her safe from every harm and danger in body, mind, and spirit. See to her temporal needs and continue to draw her to an ever-deeper spiritual awareness of and commitment to you through Jesus. Increase her faith and fill her with Light. We are placing this intention in the hands of Blessed Damien, knowing that he will carry it to your Precious Heart, and to assist him we ask St. Pio, Charles, Merilee, Nikki, Julie, and David to join him in petitioning you for her healing. We ask for a complete healing for JC. Take that tumor away, and make her whole. Pull it out of her with your own hand or guide the hands of the surgeons who take it from her. Bless her with hope, healing, and health. We anticipate the inevitable supernatural intervention of God – we expect a MIRACLE! Deliver her from the worries, the side-effects, and the discomforts this tumor brings and let her life be a testimony to the power of love and prayer. Amen!

Now, The Love of God:

It is an Everlasting Love (Jer. 31:3) With age-old love I have loved you; so I have kept my mercy toward you. (Isa. 55:3) 3 Come to me heedfully, listen, that you may have life. I will renew with you the everlasting covenant, the benefits assured to David.

It is a Manifested Love (1 John 4:9-13) 9 In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him. 10 In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us. 13 This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us of his Spirit.

It is a Redeeming Love (Isa. 63:9) Because of his love and pity he redeemed them himself, Lifting them and carrying them all the days of old. (Jude v. 21) 21: Keep yourselves in the love of God and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

It is a Preserving Love (Rom. 8:38, 39) 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now, this next one isn’t exactly in the Bible, but maybe you are familiar with it.

It is Way-Cool Love
Isa. 54:10 10 Though the mountains leave their place and the hills be shaken, My love shall never leave you nor my covenant of peace be shaken, says the LORD, who has mercy on you.
Isa 49:15 15 Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you.

1 John 2: 5 But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. This is the way we may know that we are in union with him: 6 whoever claims to abide in him ought to live (just) as he lived.

And we can. We can live just as he lived if we live in his Love.

Whatever, whenever, wherever, whoever, however, if ever, forever — at your service.
